I’m pleased to announce the kickoff of a series of drinks for a Pokemon battle drinking game! Over the course of the next few weeks I’ll be posting a series of 18 shots and a set of
completely overwroughtrules so you too can experience the brutal blood sport that is pokemon battles without the risk of physical damage! Livers aren’t that important right?
To start with, I totally have what is inarguably THE BEST ATTACK OF ALL TIME, now in delicious liquid form.
MOTHERFUCKIN’ SPLASH! (Pokemon Battle! shot)
Special type - No damage
Ingredients:
1.5oz water
Directions: Pour water into a shotglass.
Hyper Beam (Pokemon Battle! shot)
Normal type - 70hp damage
User must ‘rest’ the next round and cannot attack.
Ingredients:
0.5oz Grain alcohol
0.5oz Whiskey
0.5oz Cinnamon Schnapps
Directions: Mix all ingredients and pour into shot glass.
Fly (Pokemon Battle! shot)
Flying type - 40hp damage
User flies high up in the air and is immune from all subsequent attacks the first round.
Ingredients:
30ml Vodka
10ml White creme de cacao
5ml Cream
A couple drops of blue curacao for color
Directions: Shake all ingredients and pour into a shot glass. Jumping as high as you possibly can while vigorously flapping your arms when this attack is played is strongly encouraged.
Recommended vodka for this shot: Grey Goose.
String Shot (Pokemon Battle! shot)
Bug type - No Damage
Reduces speed of the target so they must switch places in attack order with the player with the next highest speed.
Ingredients:
10ml Ouzo
35ml Ice water
Directions: Pour ouzo into a shot glass, and then top with ice water. The Ouzo will turn cloudy due a process called louching, which can also be seen when preparing absinthe.
Confusion (Pokemon Battle! shot)
Psychic type - 40hp damage.
Roll D10, if the number is divisible by 5 the target becomes Confused. With each subsequent attack they must roll and if the number is even they hurt themselves, and must drink their own shot.
Confusion wears off after 4 rounds.
Ingredients:
3/4oz shot Fernet Branca
3/4oz shot Cola
Directions: Pour Fernet into shot glass, top with Cola. I’d recommend chasing with cola as well.
Oh, Fernet, there are many things I could say about you, mostly involving hatred and revulsion. For those of you who have sampled this, uh, unique amaro, You should have a pretty firm understanding of what I mean. For those who haven’t had the pleasure, it tastes kind of like this.
